(MILAN) Inspired, perhaps, by YSL's patronage of the Met in America,
Tod's Shoes, Tod’s and the Teatro alla Scala have announced a year-long partnership,
Tod's Women's shoes, which they celebrated with a screening of An Italian Dream, a film directed by Matthias Zentner, in an intricately built performance space,
tod's outlet, post-Prada. “An Italian Dream marks the beginning of what I hope will be a long relationship,” said Diego Della Valle, President of the Tod’s Group. “We and Teatro alla Scala are both passionately Italian and committed to keeping alive skills and traditions that lie at the heart of our culture—the things that makes the notion of ‘Made in Italy’ so unique.”
Stephane Lissner, Artistic Director of La Scala, was just as excited about the collaboration. “Every set and costume is created entirely by our artisans in our theatre’s workshop,” he noted. “It was a natural link to highlight the work of our artisans together and to promote the greatest Italian tradition of craftsmanship that our dancers have effortlessly transmitted through a modern interpretation.”
