VALENTINO and Marni are coming to a computer near you… Valentino.com is scheduled to go live today, according to WWD. The Italian company has teamed with Neiman Marcus Direct to add ecommerce to its existing web presence, which will at first be available only to customers in the US and Canada. Neiman has already hooked up with David Yurman, Salvatore Ferragamo, Baccarat, Elie Tahari, St John and Zegna and this week is expected to unveil similar ventures with Michael Kors and Juicy Couture. "Ecommerce is one of the easiest ways to make Valentino accessible," said Graziano de Boni, president and ceo of Valentino North America. "It's a way to communicate with the consumers." He failed to reveal sales projections for the site, however. "It's a new channel of distribution,tods and shoes, a new way of doing business for us,discount tods,tory burch bags -”," he said. "It's important to be in this channel of distribution,Air Max 360, more than how much we will make here." The all-new Valentino site will offer a selection from the autumn/winter 2006-7 ready-to-wear collection as well as Valentino Roma, Valentino RED and a full range of accessories. "The luxury customer has become a very informed, active ecommerce spender," said Brendan Hoffman, president and ceo of Neiman Marcus Direct. "We see that,ghdhair,coach handbags -. After my cut I rinsed them and was very happy with the outcome, with these brands, people go on the websites and they're expecting to shop. We're partnering with the brands to enable the customer to not be disappointed and to be able to have access to the merchandise wherever they live." Meanwhile another Italian favourite, Marni,asics gel shoes, will also be available to buy online from next month. Consuela Castiglioni's cult label will be on sale at www.marni.com, powered by YOOX, making the same collections as featured in store available first to customers in the US and Europe,nike air max 95 -, followed by Japan and then the rest of the world.
