Two boat paintings of Port Credit Yacht Club that I am busy ...

How do you start a painting like this? I was out north face discount cycling one evening and stopped at PCYC to take a break and watch the kids taking sailing lessons in the club dinghies. While there, the wind suddenly blew up and these incredible clouds formed in the sky. I normally carry my trusted Kodak Play-sport, but had left it on and the battery was dead. I had my Iphone on me and took a sequence of shots. I played with the 2 in Photoshop and did rendered some sketches in black and white and color.   When I was happy, I then transferred the sketch on to a canvas and painted the sceneÂ* following my ph0toshop sketches.
