Hectic times are forward for me. I’m out of the office most of this week (again). I’ll do my best to sneak a few entries in this week, but we’ll see how that goes. Where will I be? Tonight I’m headed over to the Building 43 Cafeteria to attend a reception for a group of our Windows Server beta testers who toured campus today. Reader Todd (one of the beta testers) was kind enough to suggest to the organizers that they put me on the agenda so that I can answer questions in person. Kind of a "Microsoft Technical Recruiting: Everything you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask"- Live Edition. It seems I share the bill the Channel9 team. Yay! After that (wow, busy night!), I’m off to CodeSlam at the Microsoft Visitor’s Center. (Yes, we have our own visitor's center.) Thanks, Angus,
Office Professional 2010, for the tip! Hope you are finding your way around Microsoft a little better this week. (Total aside: Last week, while briskly walking through the Building 16 courtyard in an effort to get from a meeting in Bldg 34 to a meeting in Bldg 19 in record time, I heard someone yell, "Angus, wrong courtyard!" And yes, there was Angus … wandering around.) Tomorrow morning, I catch a plane to Boston to attend the ER Expo. I’m really jazzed about that. The ER Expo is a premier Recruiting conference in the industry. After years of attending tons of developer conferences, I’m excited to experience a recruiting conference. (Well, I did attend a conference back in the spring, but I was so sick that I barely remember it. Yucky.) Anyway, the ER Expo should be interesting for sure. I'm even attending a blogger event. Methinks this blogger meet-up will be WAY different than your typical "geek" blogger meet-up. I plan to take notes on interesting recruiter discussions I overhear and participate in and share my notes back with you. I'm always willing to give up the inside scoop! Any points y'all want me to hit home with those crazy recruiters? The downside of all of this is that I miss the MVP Summit this year. :( When I booked my trip to Boston, I didn’t know about the Summit. So, MVPs, in my absence, you’ll have to go seek out Josh. He’s cooler than me anyhow ... just don't let him have too much fun with you this week! And be sure to ask him about the real Suggestion Kitty. Later, alligators. gretchen
