Alienware M11x R3

Sure, a tablet is what the market tells you to buy nowadays. Personally, I don’t think the netbook marketplace is entirely lost yet, especially if there are models such as Alienware’s M11x R3.

Perhaps it isn’t correct to describe the latest Alienware mobile computer as a netbook Office Pro Plus 2007, even if the size fits the general perception. It’s also not super compact and especially not as slow as you would expect a netbook to be. This is the first netbook (notebook) since the Acer Ferrari series that actually shows that there is some fire in netbooks left.
The exterior of the M11x R3 is reminiscent of Alienware designs long gone – very aggressive and colorful. The devices come with Core i5 or Core i7 processors Windows 7 Serial, a 11.6″ display (1366×768), 4 or 6 GB of memory Genuine Windows 7, as well as 320 GB or 500 GB of HDD space. Prices start at $1000 for the 1.4 GHz i5 version and at $1280 for the 2.6 GHz i7 model. If you add a 256 GB SSD Office Professional 2010, 16 GB of memory as well as the Ultimate version of Windows 7, the M11x tops out at about $2890 Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus, which delivers a powerful netbook device.
A weakness is connectivity, which excludes traditional CDMA or HSPA 3G options (but includes an optional WiMax card.)
At more than $1000, the M11x does not make a lot of sense for many people, but it is among the most powerful and attractive compact computing devices you can get these days.
