Way back in 1905 Dan and Charles Mason initiated the concept of marketing shoe polish in small tinned packaging. 1929 was very vital to the company as it merged with Nugget Polish Company Limited and the company's name changed to Chiswick Products Ltd. This merger between the largest companies in floor and boot polish created a massive global brand. They now had their warehouses, factories in many countries other than UK too along with a global distribution system.
1954 witnessed yet another merger with Reckitt & Colman Holdings Ltd. Over the years in spite of the technological advancements changing the whole process of manufacturing the formula of the shoe polish has not undergone much change from the time it was first introduced. During 1960 the company introduced "Padawax" that was a liquid shoe polish with a sponge applicator.
By the 1960's Reckitt & Colman were not just producing shoe polish but were also involved in the complete process of packaging and printing its tins. They had centralized all the activities required to produce and distribute their products under one roof.
Finally 1994 saw the arrival of Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish. Its manufacturing began in Alfreton, Derbyshire. Cherry Blossom has introduced its premium range in shoe polishes and continues to rule the hearts of consumers worldwide.
