Hi all,

re: Vista,Office Home And Student 2010 Key, Office 2007 and SharePoint 2007

1) On some vista machines,Microsoft Office 2010, whenever a user selects "Edit in Microsoft Word" for a document in a library they get a read-only copy.
There is a distinct pause (20 seconds approx) before the document appears.


2) If they simply click on the document link in SharePoint and then click on the edit document button on the Word 2007 ribbon, an error appears reporting that a problem has occurred attempting to get a lock on the file.

Has anyone come across this behaviour?


If the same user uses a different vista machine, everything works as expected and the editable document appears quickly.


It feels like a transport mechanism is failing and reverting to a fallback option (pause,Office 2007 Ultimate Key, then show a read-only in case one above)
Or some communication with the server is being blocked entirely (the error in case 2 above)


Any thoughts,Office Ultimate 2007 Key, comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated on what could be causing this behaviour.
