Off-Page SEO: Backlinks
Off page SEO basically refers to backlinks to your web page. The important backlink components are:

Anchor Text
Quantity
Like it or not, search engine rankings are essentially a popularity contest. However, search engines aren’t stupid. The quantity of backlinks is not nearly as important as the quality of backlinks. Google has a system called PageRank for determining the quality of a website. Thousands of links with the anchor text “click here” have insured that Adobe will stay at the top of the search engine rankings for that keyword phrase. You will want to make certain that links to your web page include the anchor text of the keywords that you are targeting.
But Wait…Let’s Not Forget NoFollow
