They were old, he could take them on if need be. They might have more knowledge, but their magic was nothing compared to his, and being as young as he was, he had more advantage.
His golden tinged eyes darted across the circular room keeping an eye on every single councilor. His features did nothing but help him instill fear in his opponents, he had silver claws, and black scales as did mostly everyone else who lived there. What they didn't have was his magical capabilities; he excelled in magic much faster than the rest of them, making him have tons of enemies and little to no friends. Besides, most of his friends he just used to get to his position now. As one of the most feared ever know to the dark watch.
"Well do you want?" The voice of that councilor shook him from his reverie. "Hahaha that's a stupid question to do all of us want? Life energy and yes even if you don't want to live anymore you still need it, hunger for it and want it."
One of the council members, the one Aril got annoyed with, very often broke in and said. "Will you just spit it out and stop stating the obvious!"
Aril turned his head toward him and glared. "Well, a bit touchy today aren't we?" The councilor, his name being Zumar said, "No, as a matter of fact I can't be touchy since I don't have emotions."
Aril replied. "My bad, I forgot that you'd lost your feelings because of how cowardly you you couldn't take the pain of emotions so you just threw it away. Kind of like you all are doing now with this opportunity I mean."
They became silent and the head of the councilors spoke. "What are you talking about? What opportunity?"
Aril smirked. "Well I've found a nice planet filled completely with life could feed us for quite a long time."
One of them spoke up again "How is that possible, I sense no energy anywhere near us."
Aril laughed. "It's not anywhere near here you idiots. Don't you think if it were near here that I wouldn't be wasting my time with you fools?"
The leader replied. "How far is it from here?"
Aril, pausing a moment to think, he had to search a bit but then he caught the surge of the life energy emanating from the mystery planet. He drank in its power and yet it hurt so much to connect with it, he gasped and turned to the councilors again and said "It's not too a days journey."
They looked at each other and though they didn't speak, they were conferring with one another. Telepathy was such a simple thing to break into, Aril could do it if he wanted and hear what they were saying. It was probably about him, but he didn't care what the fools thought. He'd kill them later anyway, he swore upon it. The leader of the council turned toward him and said. "Aril we'll permit you to go to the planet alone along with some of your men, but I warn you do not take any of that life energy. Or else..."
Aril cut him off "Or else what? You can't possibly think you can do something to me can you?" Aril turned his back on them and began to walk out when he felt it.
Just what he wanted, so now he had an excuse to kill them all. He turned around with such speed that he could of sworn he heard one of them gasp. The blast of energy rebounded off his shield like it was meant to and hit the surrounding area, creating a cloud of smoke and dust. There was coughing and now was the perfect chance. He plunged his sword deep into his chest and heard a satisfying cry of pain; he then ripped his sword out.
"Ah this is so much better then having to deal with all of your incessant voices telling me what to do."
Zumar saw the body first and tried to call out a warning but Aril appeared behind him and drove his sword into his throat.
Mortar was getting worried; he had left Lord Aril about and hour and a half ago. Even though he didn't like those doors he was dedicated to Lord Aril so he decided to go. He was walking through the long and seemingly endless halls, he usually felt like that in this place since everything was all so dark, and looked the same. He sighed and said. "I suppose I'll get used to ." He approached the two giant double doors when they opened slowly and quietly, he noticed that it was Lord Aril.
"Ah Mortar I see you've come to greet me" Lord Aril said while cleaning off his sword with a piece of cloth.
"Um, well, I was getting worried so I came."
Lord Aril laughed "No need for what I do need is a ship."
"A ship master?"
"Hmmm, yes the counselors said I should go check out that source of I have to do what they say, don't I?"
"Y-Yes of course you must." Mortar knew what happened and he couldn't believe it either.
"Well what are you standing around for? Go get a ship so we can get off this shit hole of a planet." Mortar left without saying anything because he was dedicated to Lord Aril,A&Fitch Mens Shorts, and always followed his orders.
