The arrangements had been set after countless hours of working hard to get every detail in place. It had been decided, after much debate, that the ball would be held on Mrs. Giordano抯 party room, but that the dance floor would be in the Breakfast room, which Mrs. Giordano was very happy about. It was going to be a huge ball, everybody that was anybody was invited, all the people of the town, all of their families, and anyone else that was "worthy" enough to go. For a tremendous party, it was arranged quite quickly.
The "grand opening" of the ball, (as Robert put it) was when dancers would come out. Half of the dancers would be wearing lose drapes over them, and holding up candles, their job was to stay as still as they could. Once the music started, four columns of men and women dancers would come down the grand stair case, they would each be wearing their own masks, and garments, whatever they pleased as long as it was white, beige, or black and would dance for the guest. Confetti would top it all off. But the creek behind the house was off limits, no one was allowed there, not even Mrs. Giordano's two sons.
It had only taken two weeks to prepare it all, so Raquel抯 dad was back, and all this time she intended to avoid him in every possible way.
"So have you decided what gown you抮e going to wear?" her mom said peeping into Raquel抯 roman inspired room.
"No not yet," Raquel said looking over at her mom. "I can抰 decide between the medieval fantasy looking gown
corsets uk," she pointed at the tempest blue gown with gold metallic trim, "or the white one that looks like a wedding dress but is really pretty," she sighed, "what do you think?" she said holding the white dress in front of her.
"I like the blue one, no no, you can save that to "conquistar" your fianc閑 later
corsets tops," she ran out, a couple seconds later she came back, "Here抯 the box you didn抰 open two weeks ago when you first meet Mrs. Giordano, I wanted you to see it. It was your great grandmothers."
Raquel walked over to her mom and took the box gingerly. Her mom smiled gently and said, "come on open it."
Raquel sat in her bed, and opened the big white box, her mouth dropped. Inside the box laid the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. She pulled it out so she could look at it better, the top part of the dress was a corset, the lace that tightened it was metallic gold, there where crystals all around the corset that traced to the back, the bottom of the dress was long and puffy
corset tops, but no cheap princess dress she抎 seen, the bottom was actually a buff brown silk that had little tiny crystals in selective parts. Her mom looked inside the box and pulled out what was left, a white train with little diamonds in it that would be placed in two little holes of the corset, and a stunning golden Masquerade mask.
"So, you still undecided?" Mrs. Valdez asked with a smirk.
"No, I think I know exactly what I抦 going to wear." Raquel beamed, she hadn抰 felt this excited in a long time.
