Paris fabrics, beachside chic
The theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey opened the Sydney label’s show at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week as models dressed in eye-popping colours and strong silhouettes
cheap prom dresses 2011, arrived through a boxy, neon-lit arch beneath the molded decorative ceilings and gilt mirrors of the 92-year-old theatre.
Models in sharply tailored bright blue and green suits - or in black with contrasting colour-charged sleeves - walked alongside models in dresses with short, tiered Bo-Peep style skirts made from weighty jacquard, shot with metallic thread.
Speaking to The Australian after the show, designer siblings Marc Freeman
Sweetheart Dresses, 31, and Camilla Freeman-Topper, 29, said the Infinite Variability collection was an exploration of colour and voluminous shapes.
‘’We started with a bunch of different Baroque fabrics from Paris and then we felt that they really needed some lightening up because they were quite heavy,’’ Freeman-Topper said. ‘’So we brightened it up by adding some injections of beautiful colours.’’
Those colour bursts included large fluorescent zippers that ran down the backs of dresses as well as the bright hues of wetsuit fabric in cropped tops and as embellishment in tight

‘’I absolutely love the fluoro you get in wetsuit fabric
cheap guest dresses, the brightness and the pigment is just incredible,’’ Freeman-Topper said. ‘’I really enjoyed working with the fabric because it is really tactile and different to work with.’’
Thelma McQuillan, the fashion director of Grazia and contributing editor to the UK edition of the magazine, described the show as ‘’absolutely amazing’’.
‘’It was a beautiful silhouette with wide legs
plus size prom dresse 2011, split legs, beautiful flares, the fluoros, the textures,’’ McQuillan said. ‘’They are probably one of the most polished shows I have seen this week and they know what they are about.
‘’They know who their customer is
ball gowns 2011, they know who their client is and they just get it and they don’t deviate; they are not influenced by anybody and they just follow their vision, and that’s really refreshing in Australian fashion.’’
Makeup artist Michael Brown used Lancome products to create the models’s pared back, fresh look and bright pink-orange lips. ‘’The fashion was so full of colour, we didn’t really want to have a strong make-up,’’ Brown said. ‘’So we just let the natural skin tone shine through and it was all about the lip.’’

Sweet 16 Dresses, who is walking in nine shows throughout the week said she particularly loved the Camilla and Marc range. ‘’They are things I would love to wear,’’ she said.
The Sydney-based brother and sister duo launched their label at Australian Fashion Week in 2003 and have since attracted a devoted following of international and local actresses and high-profile models.
