Default I forever considered namely lighter colours would

As distant as how to paint wood. I'll have to include that in a demonstration, but suffice to say that beginning with a pedestal tone, and your grain depicted using a darker tone and applied after the base dries is the normal approximate. There are some interesting brush techniques too, that are used to accomplish it. I detect that using a flare brush loaded with a fairly svelte mixture of the darker tone, then twirling the brush as it is stroked will get a good achieve. I'll include one instance if I tin find one and a close up. Hopefully it will aid you!
I always thought that lighter colours would be more transparent and darker colours opaque, merely have difficulty knowing why the opposite is true. Does this rule merely apply in the Flemish Technique. Could you inflate on your answer to someone's else's question, the limitations of the Flemish technique, amuse. Thank you
As far as limitations, I don't think there are any. When you see by paintings done in this technique, (particularly realist works)I have never seen any thing better. Not to say acrylics and water colors cannot achieve a imaginary painting. They can in the hands of a Master. But when you prop up the acrylic, or the watercolor, against a painting completed in oils, reproductions oil paintings, the oils (in my opinion) have a better scope in worth, deeper and richer colors, brighter and more flickering effect, and as far as longevity, nought has proven better, (except charcoal and graphite, which we have found in caves over thousands of annuals old).
White covers well, and maximum of your lighter colors will contain white, which namely indistinct. The dingy colors, even while secondhand straight from the tube, ambition grant some of the underlying color, art of oilpainting, line, alternatively whatever, to show via the floor of paint. I'm not a pharmacist, so I can't crash it down anybody beyond as to the why's this namely so. You must discern it to believe it. Of the three general blends of white oil draw, Zinc and Flake are a bit perspicuous also. Titanium white has the most covering power, thus the most opaque.
Answers
OK, I'll attempt to respond both, well, always three if you include the headline question.
This applies to mostly fuels as other mediums, acrylics, watercolors, have assorted properties namely I'm likewise not familiar with.
