Amy Regan – Recently named one of Music Connection’s Hot 100 Unsigned Artists, Amy Regan is quickly becoming one of New York’s most talked about rising talents. She plays consistently to packed rooms at NYC singer/songwriter hotspots including Rockwood Music Hall and The Living Room and has received rave reviews from Alyssa Rashbaum (MTV, SPIN, VIBE), Music Connection Magazine, and numerous blogs. Most recently, Regan and her song “Carry On” (from her debut EP “And then there is this”) have been featured in a national Hertz commercial, and she’s released a new EP, Gonna Get Better. Regan is often compared to artists such as Fiona Apple, Joni Mitchell,Office 2007 Sale, and Laura Nyro; her music fuses lyrical integrity with a pop sensibility, creating a sound that is instantly accessible but will ultimately resonate with the listener on a deeper level. Regan grew up in a small town in northern NJ, taught herself piano at age 11, got a guitar for Christmas when she was 13, and within a few months was writing music every day. Robinson Treacher Reside at Acoustic Extended Island 3-2-2011
Robinson Treacher – Just like the long list of New York City artists before him, Robinson feeds off the honest grit found among the “huddled masses”…coupling the blatantly obvious (to a New Yorker at least) with the deeply personal. Chameleon-like in his approach to his songwriting, he refuses to be pigeonholed into one particular genre. Believing that each song is forged from its own unique terrain, he takes great pains in choosing the vehicle by which passengers might best weather the bumps, potholes, and blind curves found between the first note and the last. Admittedly susceptible to the affectations of the senses himself, he asks his audience to participate emotionally as well as physically in a “whole self” conceptual challenge, a 360 degree soul search comprised of the most joyous elation to the bitterest of pains. Jennings – Jennings is the one-name moniker of NYC based siren Mary Jennings. Standing five feet, one inch tall Jennings is small in stature, her music however, is anything but. Drawing influences from artists like Imogen Heap, Annie Lennox,Microsoft Office Standard 2010 Key, Sarah McLachlan and Moby, Jennings’ music reflects an enormous strength and drive that is uniquely hers. “I believe that the difference between an artist and the average person is a fearless and relentless willingness to expose their quarks, oddities, secrets, and passions for all of the world to see and hear.” said Mary. Putnam Smith – Putnam Smith, who hails from Portland,Cheap Office Professional 2010, Maine, could be an old-world troubadour fresh from the 19th Century. After all, he lives in a log cabin and plays his Grandfather’s banjo. Yet this rootsy multi-instrumentalist songwriter (he also plays guitar,it professionals to see jump in starting salaries in 2011, mandolin, and piano), steeped as he is in old-time Appalachian traditions, is very much a storyteller for the modern age. With his sophomore release, “Goldrush,” reaching #5 on the national Folk DJ Charts, Putnam has begun to establish himself as an acoustic tour-de-force not only in his hometown of Portland, but as a nationally touring musician from East coast to West.
