Wildfire PR, a public relations consultancy for information technology, telecoms, consumer technology,
Office 2010 Professional Plus, and B2B companies, reported that IT professionals were most likely to turn to social communities or search engines than to online news or industry presses when doing research for IT purchasing decisions. Social networks and online communities were ranked the most useful information sources by 58% of IT decision makers, followed by search engines, online news resources,
Windows 7 Home Basic 32 Bit, and IT industry press sources.
The study also found that IT print publications are becoming less popular,
Microsoft Office 2010 Serial, and a quarter of all IT professionals surveyed said they got most of their IT news online. For both regular news and IT news, the respondents' most popular sources were online. All of the surveyed IT pros were U.K.-based.
