To paraphrase the evil queen from 'Snow White': "People, People, en Espanol: Who is the 'Mas Bellos' of them all?"
But you won't need a magic mirror to find out, as People mag's Spanish-speaking sister has just published her annual most beautiful list.
As a long-time shallow person, I have been a fan of the 'Mas Bellos' list for all its 14 years. And what has always struck me about the annual combination of South American telenovela stars, Mexican pop nymphs and Puerto Rican models jordans hills, is how much better looking the selection is than regular People's 'Most Beautiful' list.
People En Espanol is a magazine that knows what beauty means, and doesn't make inclusions that might politely be described as "charitable." (*Cough* like regular People *cough.*)
So who's in this year's issue?
Sprinkled among favorites like the Colombian star of ABC's 'Modern Family,' Sofia Vergara nike sneaker heels, are rising names like Puerto Rican singer Tito el Bambino. Both are expected at the issue's gala launch tonight in New York, along with such "bonboncitos" (as one telenovela magazine called him) as actor Mauricio Ochmann, perennial beauty Daisy Fuentes and Mexican actress Jacqueline Bracamontes.
People En Espanol executive editor Nicole Raymond told PopEater: "We went more showbiz than usual this year, but we do have Maria Elena Salinas, who is a news anchor."
"We have three themes. We wanted to pay homage to Mexican cinema, including the telenovelas. And then we have the '######y bodies,' and we have a paparazzi-inspired section," she said. "We also have a separate section called 'the most beautiful soccer players,' inspired by the World Cup."
Not expected to attend tonight's party, but on the list, include recent newsmaker Ricky Martin jordans heels, Mexican maidens Thalia and Paulina Rubio, 14-time Latin Grammy-winner Alejandro Sanz, rapper Pitbull and Cuban eye-candy William Levy.
